Hallsville’s Slaten fans three in Boston loss
BOSTON (KLTV) - Former Hallsville Bobcat Justin Slaten had a 1-2-3 inning in Boston’s 7-5 loss to Tampa Bay on Thursday. Slaten entered the game in the top of the seventh inning. Jonathan Aranda was the first batter of the inning and Slaten struck him out swinging. Slaten also got Isaac Paredes to go down swinging, and Richie Palacios was called out on strikes to end the inning.

Kilgore College hosts new wildland training course
Twenty-four more firefighters are now certified to handle wildland fires after Kilgore College Fire Academy hosted their first Wildland Training Course last month. Academy Director Johnny Zackary said the addition was a long time coming and in high demand, filling all 24 seats and leaving three on the waiting list.

GILMER, Texas (KLTV) - Police found a young girl without her parents on Saturday and were asking for public information to help identify her or her parents. At about 11 a.m., Gilmer police announced they found a 3-to-4-year-old girl in the 600 block of Mell Avenue. She is described as having brown hair, brown eyes, 3′3″ tall, 41 lbs with no visible birth marks. Police said she was found wearing a purple night gown and diaper.

Longview Fire Department deploys crew members to assist with flooding response across Texas
LONGVIEW, Texas — Six members of the Longview Fire Department's water rescue team were deployed on Friday to assist with flood recovery across Texas. Longview Fire Marshal Kevin May said earlier this week that two members were deployed. One went to San Antonio to be a part of a helicopter search and rescue team on Wednesday. Then on Thursday, the other traveled to College Station to be a water rescue group supervisor to assist with the possible flooding across the state.
