Severe Thunderstorms with Hail and Wind Gusts Expected in East Tennessee, Southwest Virginia
The National Weather Service in Morristown has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for parts of southwest North Carolina, east Tennessee, and southwest Virginia, alerting residents to clusters of showers and potential severe thunderstorms later today and into the evening. These weather systems are expected to roll in from Middle Tennessee and could pack a punch with hail and heavy wind gusts.
Woman attempts robberies at multiple convenience stores in Morristown on Mother’s Day
The Morristown Police Department is investigating after a woman reportedly armed with a weapon tried to rob three convenience stores Sunday. An undisclosed amount of money was taken from one of the stores.

Emma Owens will continue her basketball career in Virginia
HARLAN, Ky. (WYMT) - Harlan Lady Dragon Emma Owens signed to play college basketball at Southwest Virginia on Tuesday. Owens averaged 13.4 points per game last season, making her the team’s third-leading scorer. In their first-round district win over Harlan County, Owens scored 11 points and grabbed two rebounds.
