Buellton Haz-Mat Incident Prompts Shelter-in-Place Order, Road Closure
A hazardous materials incident in Buellton led to a shelter-in-place order for some businesses and the closure of Industrial Way for a time Sunday. Santa Barbara County firefighters, sheriff’s deputies and the fire Haz-Mat Team responded shortly after 11 a.m. to 45 Industrial Way due to a leaking large exterior carbon dioxide tank, fire Capt. Scott Safechuck said.

The Santa Barbara Black Culture House will have a table at the Juneteenth celebration, 11 a.m-5 p.m. Saturday, June 15 in Old Town Lompoc (at H Street and Cypress near the Lompoc Museum). Lompoc cannabis company pays $1.3 million settlement for multiple air quality violations
A Lompoc cannabis company has paid $1.3 million to the Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District for multiple air quality violations. According to the District, Central Coast Agriculture’s operations between 2020 and 2023 resulted in ozone emissions, a type of pollution that can worsen asthma and other health issues.
