This North Carolina Outlet Mall Is So Long That Families Plan Their Entire Day Around Shopping
One lap around the main hallway of this mall is about 0.85 miles. That is a real workout, and it all happens on a single floor. I like how the shopping is only part of the story here. There’s an aquarium with an ocean tunnel inside. There’s also a go-kart park, a 24-screen movie theater, and a carousel in the food court.

Plans called to raze Pineville Italian restaurant, then move in a chicken chain
UPDATE: Plans to demolish an existing restaurant to make room for a new Raising Cane’s in Pineville were “withdrawn” on Oct. 26, although other permits for the site remain pending. CharlotteFive has reached out to the chain for an update and was awaiting a response. The original story is below. Months after its debut, Raising Cane’s is plotting its next Charlotte-area restaurant. The popular chicken finger chain is expanding to Pineville, with plans to build a new outpost at Carolina Place from the ground up, Mecklenburg County records show. The existing site at 10915 Carolina Place Pkwy will be bulldozed to make way for the new build, according to a demolition permit, although it’s unclear when. The space was last home to Buca di Beppo Italian Restaurant. “Trash enclosures, site lighting (and) parking” at the site will also come down, records show. CharlotteFive reached out to Raising Cane’s for more information and was awaiting a response. The Pineville site is one of three new Raising Cane’s restaurants in development in metro Charlotte, according to the Charlotte Business Journal. The chicken chain also plans to open spots in Concord and Gastonia by 2027. Its first foray into the Charlotte market came

Charlotte's Old Taco Spot Becomes a 6,500-Square-Foot Wine Haven
A onetime taco restaurant in South Charlotte has been reborn as a 6,500-square-foot wine destination, complete with hand-blown stained glass, a curved vaulted ceiling and a layout built around connected rooms rather than one open floor. Napa Bistro & Wine Bar Stonecrest sits at 7708 Rea Road in the StoneCrest at Piper Glen shopping center, where it replaced the former taco spot entirely rather than simply remodeling around it.
