Victim of stabbing over the weekend in Billings dies
BILLINGS, Mont. - A stabbing in Billings on April 20 has been upgraded to a homicide after a victim has died. Billings police responded to the 300 block of Monroe St. after a reported stabbing, and found a 17-year-old with life threatening injuries along with an 18-year-old with non-life threatening injuries. Both victims were taken to local hospitals.
Billings man gets suspended sentence for failure to register, DUI
A Billings man received a two-year suspended prison sentence last week in Fifth Judicial District Court for driving drunk and failing to register as a violent offender. Jesse Van Hook, 40, was sentenced April 16 in district court. Judge Luke Berger issued a total of two years in the Montana Department of Corrections, suspended prison time, and credit for time served; a $600 fine and court fees. He must also abide by a number of conditions. All the sentences in the case are to run concurrently.
