Bobcat Stadium potentially under new name change
Bobcat Stadium might be going under a new name change according to a Texas State Board of Regents board meeting agenda. The Texas State BOR will vote May 16 during their next board meeting on naming rights with Univeristy Federal Credit Union that will change the name of Bobcat Stadium to UFCU Stadium. Sign up for Rattler Boys Basketball Summer Camp is now open for the public. The camp is set for June 18-20 with two sessions. Session 1 is dedicated to 3rd through 6th grades while starting at 9 a.m. and ending at 11 a.m. Session 2 is for 7th through 9th grades starting at 11:30 a.m. and ending at 1:30 p.m. Kids and teenagers will get to learn the essential basketball skills needed to become better basketball players while also having fun. The sessions are led and taught by Head Coach Dan Miller and current San Marcos basketball players giving the camp a local feel. High-scoring offense not enough as pitching falters in loss to Roadrunners
Sometimes, a good offense is just not enough to get the job done. This was the case on Tuesday night for Texas State baseball (22-23, 8-13 Sun Belt Conference) as it lost to the University of Texas–San Antonio (26-18, 12-6 American Athletic Conference) by a final score of 11-9 at Roadrunner Field in San Antonio.

TXST Golfer advances in US Open Qualifying
Texas State golfer Sakke Siltala advanced out of US Open local qualifying at Fair Oaks Ranch Golf & Country Club on the Blackjack Course in Fair Oaks Ranch. Siltala finished in a five-way tie for first place shooting four-under par to claim one of the seven spots needed to advance. Siltala wrapped up his sophomore year with the Bobcats being named to the second team Sun Belt All-Conference becoming the first Bobcat golfer since 2022 to earn the honor. Siltala finished the 2024 season with three top ten finishes. The sophomore’s best finish came at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate, placing in third to push the Bobcats to the team title. Siltala was named Sun Belt Golfer of the Week following his performance at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate.
