Finding relief at The Screaming Collective

Sometimes, all you need is a good scream.

That's the idea behind The Screaming Collective, a gathering that brings strangers together for one simple purpose: to let it all out.

Instead of bottling up their frustrations, participants come together to scream at the top of their lungs in what some describe as a freeing experience.

Xa Carter started these meetups over the summer and told ABC13 that each gathering kept growing.

"Right now, we are going through a lot economically and politically," Carter said. "We need a space to let out our scream."

The next gathering is Saturday, October 24th at 6 p.m. in Galveston. You can find more information on their Instagram. If you can't make it, Carter also plans to launch a hotline on October 25th where people can call and scream live on their TikTok page.
