'After the Glow' provides a bright future for families fighting Retinoblastoma
"After the Glow" is a nonprofit started by Kevin Sheridan.
The mission was inspired by his nephew, Liam, who was diagnosed with a cancer in his eyes known as Retinoblastoma.
Their goal is to financially support families traveling for treatment, and to make up for hospital bills.
To date, they have raised over $400k to provide for families.
Recently, After the Glow met with the Yontz family, one of their previous recipients.
"My son was being treated for retinoblastoma...I was looking at about $800 ambulance bill and pile up of co-pays...The financial assistance we received from After The Glow kept my lights on at the end of the day...Nice to have somebody in my corner that takes that pressure off of my shoulders and helps me through a process," said Dietrich Yontz of Kent County, Delaware.
