Retired teacher reconnects with former 1st grade students at time of High School graduation
This retired teacher has created a special project, and it's finally completed this year.
Ellen Forbes has been creating personalized yearbooks of her former 1st graders with pictures from back then, compared to their High School graduation.
They get delivered each year, and she just gave a set to her final class who reconnected at Mount Pleasant Elementary School.
" I think they recognize that they spent a full year in your classroom 7 hours a day, you became family and that they're not forgotten. I loved having that connection then, and I love reconnecting now," said Forbes.
"I've learned so many things of what they're going to be doing, and I'm impressed...I want to tell them I'm proud of them... I'm glad I had an opportunity to start them off, wish them all the best as they have their future ahead of them," she continued.
