ABC News Studios celebrated the release of their new film "Patrice: The Movie" with a special screening event hosted at The Clairidge in Montclair, New Jersey.

The film follows a disabled couple, Patrice Jetter and Garry Wickham, who want to marry but risk losing their federal benefits if they do.

"One in four people in this country is disabled," says Ted Passon, Director of "Patrice The Movie."

"And we are not set up for those people, so there's a twenty-five percent of the population that just gets left out of just about everything," he adds.

The event treated guests to a screening of the movie, as well as a Q&A with Director Ted Passon, subjects Patrice Jetter and Garry Wickham, and producers Innbo Shim and Emily Spivack, Dr. Laura Quiros and Delaney O'Connell.

"The laws are unfair to people with disabilities and they need to change," says Patrice Jetter. "Hopefully this movie will give people awareness about this [issue] and bring change," she adds.

Join Patrice and Garry in their fight for love and justice when the film premieres on September 30, only on Hulu .

Disney is the parent company of ABC News Studios and ABC Localish.

Four Ingredients Make This Lemon Cake Almost Unfair

A dessert with only four ingredients should not taste this rich, but lemon pie filling, cream cheese, cake mix, and butter know exactly how to work together. The lemon creates a bright, tangy layer while the cream cheese adds pockets of smooth richness. Cake mix and melted butter form a golden topping with soft sections, crisp edges, and the comforting flavor of a homemade cobbler. Every spoonful lands differently depending on how much citrus, cream cheese, and buttery crust it captures. The result feels more complicated than the assembly suggests, making this recipe ideal when time is short but dessert still needs to impress. As it bakes, the lemon bubbles around the edges and the top becomes golden, filling the kitchen with an aroma that makes waiting considerably more difficult.

Cabbage and Potatoes Still Know How to Feed a Family Without Emptying the Grocery Budget

Some of the most comforting meals come from ingredients that never needed to be fancy. This Irish-inspired bacon, cabbage, and potato soup brings together humble staples in one steaming pot, with smoky, salty bacon giving the broth the kind of flavor that makes simple vegetables taste like something you planned all day. The potatoes turn tender and hearty, cabbage softens into the savory broth, and those little pieces of bacon keep every spoonful interesting. It’s warm, rustic food built around ingredients generations of home cooks have relied on when dinner needed to stretch. Nothing here is trying to impress you with a long shopping list. It’s simply the sort of bubbling soup that fills the kitchen with a good smell and makes a loaf of bread on the counter suddenly feel like part of dinner.
