This Rapid City cafe looks ahead to next year and continued growth

When The Bestro first took root inside BES Lighting, it felt like a quiet surprise—good coffee and comforting food tucked inside a place known for lamps and fixtures. Since then, the café has continued to grow into something deeper: a welcoming pause in the middle of Rapid City where conversation, creativity, and connection all share the same table.

Owner Darci Beatty says the original Local Business Spotlight brought some visibility, but the real story of The Bestro continues to be written day by day, through returning guests and meaningful moments. One recent visit stood out in particular: a couple who had first stopped in back in late 2020 returned to Rapid City for work and made a point to come back. They remembered Darci. She remembered them. Sitting together again, they talked about how much the space had grown—and how the atmosphere still felt special. “They told me it feels like something you’d find in a big city,” she says, a compliment that speaks volumes in a place built on intention rather than scale.

That sense of evolution is continuing behind the scenes as well. BES Lighting, which shares its space and spirit with The Bestro, is in the process of merging with Real Finds, another beloved local furniture store that was slated to close in early 2026. The merge will bring expanded furniture offerings, new floral accessories, and two additional staff members—creating fresh energy and new reasons to linger. For customers, it means an even more seamless experience: sip a coffee, enjoy a meal, and wander through thoughtfully curated lighting, furniture, and home décor all in one visit.

For Darci, the focus remains steady. The goals are simple but meaningful: continue growing sales, expand catering, and maintain The Bestro as a place where people genuinely enjoy being—where friends catch up, families linger a little longer, and conversations unfold naturally. It’s not about rushing or reinventing the space, but nurturing what already works.
