Liberty 100 stock car race will return to Muscatine County Fairgrounds
By Linda Cook,
7 hours agoAn old friend returns to the West Liberty Raceway Oct. 23-24. The Liberty 100 stock car race will be back at the Muscatine County Fairgrounds track after an eight year absence.
The 2026 version of the Liberty 100 will feature the Midwest Late-Model Racing Association super late models. In true throwback fashion, this year’s Liberty 100 A-main will be run without breaks. The 100-lap finale will pay $20,000-to-win.
Also racing will be West Liberty Auto Parts IMCA Modifieds, the Aupp Automotive IMCA SportMods, and the Brothers Towing IMCA Stock Cars. The support classes will run a full program on both nights.
On both nights, the pit gate will open at 3:30 p.m.. The grandstand will open at 4 p.m., hot laps are at 6 p.m., with racing to follow.

The One Crispy Apple I'm Choosing Over Honeycrisp Right Now
Learn about an apple variety that is super crisp and firm that I am getting at apple orchards over Honeycrisp this month. It took a long time from when the Crimson Crisp apple was first bred until it was available to be grown commercially. It was first developed in the 1970s by the PRI (Purdue, Rutgers, and Illnois) co-operative. It wasn't until 2006 that the apple was released for growers. That is a long time in the development process. You don't get rich quick by developing a new apple variety!
