Davenport City Administrator Tim Gleason resigns

6 hours agoThe City of Davenport has accepted City Administrator Tim Gleason’s resignation "to pursue other professional opportunities," according to a news release from the city.
"The city appreciates Mr. Gleason’s work for the citizens of Davenport over the term of his
service," the release says.
Nicole Gleason will fill the role of acting city administrator while the city council discusses the next steps. She has served as the assistant city administrator/public works director since 2018. The release says the city’s daily operations, emergency services, and ongoing projects will continue without interruption.
In accordance with the terms of Tim Gleason's employment agreement, the parties agreed to a payment of $41,436. In addition, he will receive payment of accrued vacation per Iowa law and the terms of his agreement of about $33,500.
Tim Gleason had served as Davenport interim city administrator since November 2025, and was chosen as city administrator in February 2026. He served as city manager in Decatur, Ill., from 2024 to 2025 and from 2015 to 2018, and in Bloomington, Ill., from 2018 to 2024. He also worked at the city administrator level in Washington, Ill., during the devastating EF4 tornado in November 2013. He also has 21 years of experience in law enforcement.
