City of Clinton updates progress on road-construction projects

The City of Clinton has released an update as construction progresses on the Manufacturing Drive and Bluff Boulevard Improvement Project:

College Avenue & Bluff Boulevard

The intersection of College Avenue and Bluff Boulevard is anticipated to reopen to traffic by Wednesday, Sept. 30. While recent weather conditions have caused minor delays, the contractor is working toward reopening the intersection by this date.

South 19th Street & Manufacturing Drive

Concrete work is underway for the proposed roundabout at South 19th Street and Manufacturing Drive. The contractor has completed concrete work on three legs of the intersection and is scheduled to begin work on the colored concrete areas next week, with asphalt transitions to follow.

Three legs of the roundabout are anticipated to open to traffic by Oct. 16. The contractor is expected to complete the north leg of the roundabout before the end of November.

Other work - Manufacturing Drive

South 21st Street to Nestle Purina will be under construction until Nov. 15. Once these sections of roadway are complete, traffic will be restored from College Avenue to Highway 30.

Other work - Bluff Boulevard

The contractor will work from the east side of College Avenue to South 14th Street for the remainder of the construction season. We anticipate restoring through traffic on this section at the end of the year. The roundabout at South 14th Street will commence in spring of 2027.

Local businesses remain accessible throughout construction. Signs are in place directing motorists to businesses using these routes:

• Mill Creek Parkway → Harts Mill Road → Manufacturing Drive
• South 14th Street → 13th Avenue South → Manufacturing Drive.

Motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling through construction areas, follow all posted signage, and allow additional travel time when necessary.
