Rock Island Arsenal honoring outgoing commander with cannon fire

1 days agoQC residents may hear cannon fire later this week as Rock Island Arsenal hosts two ceremonies for an outgoing commander.
Cannon fire will be heard coming from Rock Island Arsenal on Thursday, August 6 and Friday, August 7 for the First Army Relinquishment of Command ceremony honoring LTG Mark Landes and his retirement ceremony. The cannons will be fired on the North side of the island near Quarters 1 for the rehearsal at about 9:30 a.m. on Thursday and during the 9 a.m. hour on Friday.
