Muscatine

Muscatine street closures begin August 3

It’s an Our Quad Cities News traffic alert.

According to a release from the City of Muscatine, the Muscatine Public Works announced Devitt Ave. will close to through traffic from Newell Ave. to Pinefield St. beginning Monday, August 3. The closure is as sanitary and storm sewer work advances. Limited access will also affect Eisenhower St. during this phase. Crews will begin by replacing manholes on Eisenhower and Devitt, followed by storm sewer replacement and sanitary sewer lining.

Through traffic will be detoured through Lucas St. to Houser St. to W. Fulliam St. to Devitt Ave.

The follow closures remain in effect:

Logan St. is closed from Pinefield St. to Climer St.
Newell Ave. is closed from Devitt St. to Maiden Ln.

Drivers are advised to use caution near work zones and follow all posted traffic control.

When she hiked back to fetch her equipment on May 1, the citizen scientist and author was greeted by one of nature’s most primal noises: the howls of wolves.
