Father’s Day and the start of summer Sunday was cool and wet. It’ll be much warmer today, but still comfortable.

A few random shower chances are in the forecast for the week ahead.

Heavy rain fell across much of the area Sunday and June’s total is well above average.

For years, boiling corn on the cob meant watching a pot, timing it just right, and still ending up with kernels that were sometimes tough and sometimes mushy. Switching to a slow cooker milk bath solved that problem completely. The corn comes out tender and sweet every time, and the stove stays free for everything else on the menu.
