Government Bridge to close for cleaning

It’s an Our Quad Cities News traffic alert.

According to a release from the Rock Island Arsenal, Government Bridge will be closed to to pedestrian and vehicle traffic Friday, June 19 from 6:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. for cleaning.

Community Policy

For years, boiling corn on the cob meant watching a pot, timing it just right, and still ending up with kernels that were sometimes tough and sometimes mushy. Switching to a slow cooker milk bath solved that problem completely. The corn comes out tender and sweet every time, and the stove stays free for everything else on the menu.
