Dave & Buster’s opens in Davenport
By Joel Kellar,
2026-01-19Despite the frigid temperatures, people started their Monday off waiting in line, hoping to be one of the first 100 people into the brand-new Dave & Buster’s in Davenport.
John McAndrew and his two sons, Tyson and Maximus, were some of the last arrivals to the line, just a few minutes after the doors opened for the first time.
“We thought they’d have school today. Well, they had it off because of Martin Luther King Jr. Day,” said McAndrew. “Then right at the last minute, (Tyson and Maximus) were, like, let’s get up there and try it. I’m, like, I don’t know if it’ll work, but we’ll try it.”
As they walked through the doors, hoping to still be within the first 100 people in the building, McAndrew and his sons saw the play cards dwindle down to the last few. When they got to the Dave & Buster’s greeter with the cards, there were still enough left. They heard her say 97, 98, and 99. The McAndrew’s received the free card by just a hair.
The inside of the newest entertainment center in the Quad Cities was a scene of pure chaos and fun. The Davenport Central High School marching band played music to add energy to the ‘wow factor’ people experienced while they first entered.
“To see this whole building come to life and, yeah, to see the faces as people walk through the door, it’s a wonderful feeling,” said Joshua Kindig, the general manager of the Davenport Dave & Buster’s.
The new entertainment center also fills an empty building on Elmore Avenue. One of the things that Davenport mayor Jason Gordon says is important about bringing Dave & Buster’s to the Quad Cities.
“It’s kind of associated with bigger communities. You know, you think of a Chicago or Kansas City or St Louis, so it’s kind of nice to have this feather in our cap,” said Gordon. “To have a brand like Dave & Buster’s here in the Quad Cities.”
Within the first 90 minutes of opening, there were already well over 100 visitors. With all of them exploring what Dave & Buster’s has to offer.
Dave & Buster’s is located at 5248 Elmore Ave., Davenport.
