SEVERE T’STORM update for Friday night

Quick update for Friday afternoon – everything is on track for a severe weather outbreak this evening, including right here in the Quad Cities.

Computer models have been steady this week promoting a line of severe t’storms with damaging winds upwards of 80 mph moving across the Midwest. This line of storms is expected in the Quad Cities around 9 p.m.

We’ll likely see a tornado or severe t’storm watch issued within the next couple hours.

Here’s what you need to know about tonight’s storms:

We’ll have many updates on television and online right here throughout the stormy evening.

One last thing for now – storms will be racing through the area at about 60 mph! That means they won’t leave much time for you to take cover as they rip through the area. It also means it will only storm for about 15 mins at any one particular location.

19 Million Eggs Recalled Over Salmonella Risk -- How to Check Your Carton

Nearly 19.1 million eggs sold under several familiar grocery-store brands are being recalled because they may be contaminated with Salmonella Enteritidis. Midwest Poultry Services, L.P. announced the voluntary recall on July 22, covering 1,589,577 dozen white and brown cage-free shell eggs produced at two farms in Texas.

A Salmonella Recall Now Reaches Walmart, Target, Trader Joe's and Whole Foods

A widening food recall connected to a multistate Salmonella outbreak now covers dips, salsas, guacamole and prepared meals sold by some of America's largest grocery chains. Taylor Fresh Foods announced the voluntary recall on Aug. 9 after learning that jalapeno supplier Coast Citrus Distributors was recalling peppers because of possible Salmonella contamination. The affected jalapenos came from a grower in Sinaloa, Mexico, identified as the likely source of an ongoing outbreak.
