Iowa advances THC open container bill

A bill that would add THC beverages into Iowa’s open container law is headed to Gove. Kim Reynolds to sign.

The bill, House File 181 , passed the State Senate in an unanimous vote. It would prohibit open containers of legal THC drinks in cars. The bill treats THC drinks the same as alcohol. Open drinks can be in the trunk of cars or the last upright seat if there is no trunk.

Lobbyists hope some language can be removed from laws adopted last year to promote business growth.
