2 buildings on fire in Reynolds

Crews from multiple departments fought a fire in Reynolds on Tuesday.

It started in one of the buildings before 11 a.m. and spread to a second, likely due to wind.

One of the buildings used to be a laundromat “years ago,” according to Stephanie Dye, the current owner of the corner building. It now houses apartments. It is believed that everyone in the apartments was able to get out, including pets.

Fire departments that responded include Reynolds, Aledo, Coal Valley, Sherrard, Coyne Center, Andalusia, Illinois City, as well as the Blackhawk Fire Protection District in Milan.
