Raises for Iowa state lawmakers & governor deemed worthy

A big miscalculation by Illinois’ government when it comes to the money state taxpayers laid out for providing healthcare to undocumented immigrants.

And Iowa lawmakers consider giving themselves as well as the governor a raise.

Host Jim Niedelman gets into that with Scott County Democratic Party Chair Kay Pence and former Republican Party Chair Steve Grubbs.

“I think they earn $45,000 a year, it’s not an easy job no matter which party you’re in,” Grubbs said.

“I think a raise is reasonable, it’s been since 2007 since they’ve had a raise,” Pence said.
