A 21-year-old man from Littlefield was killed and two other people were injured in a crash Thursday night in Lubbock County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Investigators believe a 2022 Chevrolet Equinox driven by 61-year-old Daimon Dale Knight of Lubbock was southbound on north County Road 1700 at 7:52 p.m. with clear and dry road conditions.

That is when the driver crossed over the center stripe into the northbound lane and collided with a vehicle driven by Kahlil Lamont De Vaughn, 21, of Littlefield, with Tyler Obed Thompson, 21, of Littlefield as its passenger.

According to DPS, De Vaughn and the driver of the Equinox were both treated for minor injuries; however, Thompson was transported to University Medical Center in Lubbock, where he died.

No other details about the crash have been released at this time.
