The City of Linden Proudly Honored Captain Carl J. Tattoli, Jr. of The Linden Fire Department for being named the 2024 New Jersey State Fire Investigator of the Year

Linden, NJ – The City of Linden proudly honored Captain Carl J. Tattoli, Jr. of The Linden Fire Department (LFD) for being named the 2024 New Jersey State Fire Investigator of the Year at the Council meeting. Mayor Derek Armstead, along with Council President Michelle Yamakaitis,Councilman Barry Javick, and Councilman John Roman made the presentation.

Mayor Derek Armstead stated, " We are here today to honor a great firefighter. Carl Tattoli was awarded the NJ State Fire Investigator of the Year. " This is the first time Linden has ever received this award. I am so proud of him, " said Mayor Armstead. Captain Tattoli, a 15-year veteran of the Linden Fire Department and Deputy Director of the Union County Fire Investigation Task Force, received the award on Thursday, February 29th, in Atlantic City during a ceremony hosted by the NJ Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI). He was nominated by both the Union County Arson Task Force and the NJ ATF/CFI (Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms/Certified Fire Investigators), unbeknownst to each other, highlighting the exceptional quality of his work. " I am both humbled and honored to receive this recognition, said Captain Tattoli. While I am honored to receive this award, I would be remiss if I didn't remind everyone that keeping our beautiful City safe is a team effort, and this award is just as much a reflection on all members of the Linden Fire Department as it is on me." Fire Chief William Hasko presented a Commendation on behalf of the Fire Department and stated," The Linden Fire Department commends Captain Tattoli on this extraordinary achievement and for his continued dedication to the safety and well-being of the Linden community." We are proud of you and honored that you are a member of the Linden Fire Department. "
