    Nebraska Track and Field Breaks Multiple School Records

    (Lincoln, NE) – Nebraska’s track and field team was able to break multiple school records during the Big Ten Championships in yesterday’s (Friday) meet.

    Dash Sirmon was able to break the javelin school record with a throw of 265’3″ on his final attempt. That throw helped him earn the silver medal and earned third in the NCAA. Another school record that was broken came in the 200-meter dash. In his first time to ever race in the 200-meter dash this season, Garrett Kaalund broke the school record at 20.50, earning the second seed.

    Rhema Otabor was able to earn back-to-back titles in the women’s javelin with a throw of 189’5″ while teammate Eniko Sara earned fourth with a 163’2″. Henry Zimmerman earned second in the hammer throw and broke his personal best with a throw of 222’5″. Abrielle Artley finished sixth in the prelim 400-meter dash and came tight to her personal-best time at 59.35.

    On the all-time list for the 10,000-meter, Ali Bainbridge and Bryanna McQuillen broke the all-time list with a time of 34:27.09 and moved to sixth all-time.

    The Huskers continue in the Big Ten Championships today that lead into tomorrow as the Huskers will look to break even more records.
