Lewiston Police Locate Child who Never Showed up at Boys & Girls Club on Monday
LEWISTON - At about 5:45 p.m. on Monday, Lewiston Police responded to a report of a missing 10-year-old juvenile from the Boys and Girls Club on Burrell Avenue in Lewiston. A parent went to pick up their child and discovered the child had not checked into the club as planned. Multiple officers and club staff members were involved in trying to locate the juvenile.

Avista Says Power may be Turned off to Certain Locations to Avoid Wildfires This Year
LEWISTON - Avista is adding a new strategy to its wildfire mitigation plan. The utility announced this week that if extreme weather conditions are forecast, like low humidity and strong winds, Avista may turn off power in specific locations to help protect public safety. This is called a Public Safety Power Shutoff, or PSPS.

Man who Fled From Lewiston Police Traffic Stop in April Arrested Two Weeks Later
LEWISTON - A homeless man that fled from a Lewiston Police traffic stop in April was arrested after being spotted by police on Saturday. In the early morning hours on April 19, Lewiston Police began watching a sedan that was parked at a gas station on 16th Avenue in Lewiston. There were two occupants inside of the vehicle. The driver was later identified as 27-year-old Saxxon Vaughn, who is listed as homeless in court documents.
Moscow City Council To Begin Review Of Development Agreement For Controversial Home Depot Store
MOSCOW - Moscow City Council will begin reviewing the development agreement for the controversial Home Depot store on Monday. Home Depot is set to construct a 137,000 square foot store on University of Idaho land behind the Palouse Mall. The Idaho State Board of Education approved the lease agreement last August. Home Depot is leasing the ground for 20 years eventually paying the institution 300,000 dollars annually. The project has drawn strong opposition from many local residents.

NAIA Baseball National Tournament Field Announced
LEWISTON – The NAIA national office announced the 46-team field for the 2024 NAIA Baseball Opening Round, presented by Avista, and Harris Field will play host to a five-team bracket May13-16. The No. 5 Warriors are the top seed in the Lewiston bracket. No. 21 Oklahoma City will be the second seed, and Arizona Christian is seeded third. Cascade Conference foe British Columbia is seeded fourth with Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) is the fifth seed.
