Lawsuit against county dismissed
Nez Perce County was granted summary judgment in a lawsuit filed by Riverview Marina because the county awarded a bid to another company. Second District Judge Adam Green dismissed the lawsuit with prejudice Wednesday and granted the county’s motion for summary judgment, meaning the case was dismissed before it went to trial.
LCSC Baseball Clinches Conference Regular Season Title With Wins Over Bushnell
LEWISTON - The No. 5 Lewis-Clark State Warriors clinched the Cascade Conference regular season title and the top seed in the CCC tournament with a doubleheader sweep of the Bushnell University Beacons on Saturday. The Warriors increased their NAIA-leading winning streak to 14 games and are now 18-0 at Harris Field this season.
Fire Crews Quickly Extinguish Vehicle Fire off Webb Road
LAPWAI - The Lapwai Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a vehicle fire near the intersection of US95 and Webb Road on Tuesday evening. According to Fire Chief William Skiles, fire crews were dispatched around 8:40 p.m. Upon arrival, firefighters found a Ford pickup that reportedly had blown a tire near Culdesac but continued to drive about 6 miles to a residence on Cherry Drive, located about a tenth of a mile from the US95 intersection with Webb Road. The driver of the pickup was reportedly unaware of the fire.
Rams charge ahead in sweep of Bulldogs
GENESEE —The Clearwater Valley Rams of Kooskia outshined the Genesee Bulldogs on all three levels in a Whitepine League baseball doubleheader on Friday. The Rams downed the Bulldogs 13-1 and 11-0 at Genesee High School. The sweep gave Clearwater Valley (10-11, 7-5) its third straght win. With the victories, the Rams have a winning record after hovering around .500 since April 2.

LEWISTON - Construction is underway on Phase II of the athletic venues at Lewiston High School. The district says the venues "will provide state-of-the-art outdoor athletic facilities enabling our students to excel in their respective sports and benefit our community. These venues will cater to a range of important programs, such as Marching Band, Soccer, Softball, Baseball, Track & Field, and Football."
