CHARLESTON- The Greenbrier East boys and girls track teams once again put up a great showing at another meet, this time at the Tudor’s Biscuit Charleston Relays at Laidley Field. The Spartans have been on a roll the past few weeks and this weekend was not any different as several members continued to shatter records and break their own personal best times.

The East Girls were led by Neena McClintic who won the 3200-meters on Friday night with a time of 11:21.8. This time shatters the East record that has held since 1988 by 38 seconds. This was McClintic’s first time running the 3200 this year in which she is now ranked sixth in the state in Class AAA. McClintic also took first place in the 800-meters on Saturday with a state best time of 2:17.1.  She rebroke her previous record set last week.

Annie Whited also took first place in the 400. She ran an amazing time of 58.5. Her time now ranks second in Class AAA.

Megan Canterbury ran a personal best time of 50.3 seconds and finished fifth in the 300 hurdles.

Mia Rowan finished tied for seventh in the high jump.

4×100 Relay team of Noelle McClintic, Annie Whited, Megan Canterbury and Kiana McClung placed third with a time of 52.1 seconds.

4×200 Relay team of Noelle McClintic, Megan Canterbury, Annie Whited, Kiana McClung placed second with a time of 1:48.8.

4×800 Relay team of Noelle McClintic, Neena McClintic, Maddie Lilly and Kate Atkins finished third with a time of 10:26.8.

Shuttle Relay team of Megan Canterbury, Penelope Campbell, EmmaJo Palmer and Mia Rowan finished fifth with a time of 1:11.5.

The 4×400 Relay Team of Neena McClintic, Kiana McClung, Noelle McClintic and Annie Whited had an amazing run and appeared to have won first place, but an unintentional event occurred which led to their disqualification. Their time was another season personal record. Head Coach Nikola McClintic commented, “it was a very unfortunate incident. However, it is best to learn from now as we prepare for regionals and states in the coming weeks.”

All girls’ relays ran season best time and are ranked in the AAA division.  Additionally, East girls had 12 personal best times for the meet.

The boys team continued to do extremely well also. The 4×100, 4×200, and 4×400 relay teams of Donavin Penn, Isaiah Bartenslager, Robby White and Henry Martinez placed sixth, eighth and third consecutively. The shuttles relay team of Keshawn Bland, Jimmy Viney, Dylan DePriest and Andrew Cleghon placed seventh.

Every relay team broke season best times as well.
