Hilliard resigns as Minerva wrestling coach, named new Athletic Director at Marlington
Marlington Local Schools has announced the appointment of Chad Hilliard as the new Athletic Director and Career & Technical Education Director. “We are excited to announce Chad Hilliard as our new Athletic Director and Career & Technical Education Director,” said Marlington Local Superintedent Dan Swisher. “We are confident that Chad will be a tremendous asset to our team, bringing a wide variety of valuable experiences to Marlington.”
Dozens will cruise down Belmont Ave. Sunday for 2nd Annual Bike Belmont
Sunday looks like a perfect day for a bike ride, and if you're traveling along Belmont Avenue you'll likely notice quite a few of them. The Build a Better Belmont Coalition's Second Annual Bike Belmont happens Sunday, May 19th. Organizers expect to see as many as 150 riders, doubling last year's participants. The registration deadline has passed.

SALEM — This was a tone setter. It also was a reminder that Marlington's boys 3,200-meter relay is the team to beat in Division II again. The Dukes broke their own district-meet record Thursday night at Sebo Stadium. Luke Ryan, Michael Nicholls, Logan Citino and Colin Cernansky ran a 7:47.17 to shatter the old record of 7:58.04 Marlington set in 2022.

YSU: Beeghly Center renovations moving along & WATTS turf replacement
Work is moving on two facilities at Youngstown State as Beeghly Center is undergoing a seat renovation and the WATTS is getting new turf. All of the red seats are out of Beeghly and workers have half of the upper deck bleachers removed from the west side. They expect to take a couple more weeks to have all the bleachers removed.
