Man dies in St. George motorcycle accident right after purchasing the bike
ST. GEORGE — A man was injured in a crash on a newly purchased motorcycle Saturday night and later died at the hospital. A man who had just bought a motorcycle was leaving the area when he hit a curb in the 700 block of St. James Lane, St. George police officer Tiffany Mitchell said. The man went off the road and struck his head, and he wasn't wearing a helmet.
Fire near Oak Grove Campground grows to 22 acres
ST. GEORGE — A fire burning near the Oak Grove Campground spread from 5 to 22 acres over the course of a few hours on Monday. The fire was reportedly started after an all-terrain vehicle caught fire on the side of the road in the Dixie National Forest a short distance below the Oak Grove Campground, Hurricane Valley Fire District Battalion Chief Tyler Ames told St. George News.
Former officer arrested in St. George now in federal custody after reportedly fleeing to Cambodia
ST. GEORGE — After cutting his ankle monitor and fleeing the country, a northern Utah former police officer was recently picked up by the U.S. Marshals Service. Currently in federal custody in Southern California, he is awaiting extradition to Southern Utah for sentencing in a case filed in Washington County.

ST. GEORGE — A driver was transported to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash that impacted traffic, causing a backup along South Dixie Drive Monday morning. St. George Police officer Tiffany Mitchell told St. George News the crash involved a black Toyota 4Runner that collided with a green 1955 Willys-Overland pickup truck near the intersection of South Dixie Drive and Mesa Palms Drive shortly before 9 a.m.
