Franklin Regional sends 2 runners to state track meet
Franklin Regional coach Bob Ralston joked that he can retire after his son Eryk qualified for the PIAA track and field championship on May 24-25. Eryk Ralston finished fourth in the Class 3A 400-meter dash in the WPIAL meet at Slippery Rock’s Mihalik-Thompson Stadium on May 15 to earn his spot at Shippensburg University.
Art therapy program boosts well-being of Allegheny Valley School District students
Students in the Allegheny Valley School District are turning to art as an additional way to support their mental well-being. Melissa Holler, the district’s director of pupil services, said the district has implemented an art therapy program. It has done so by contracting with the Pittsburgh Center for Integrative Therapy, using money it received from the state’s Commission on Crime and Delinquency mental health supports grant.

The Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office says Byars was also wanted by Monroeville Police after allegedly punching an 84-year-old man in the face in the parking lot of a Monroeville Sam’s Club on William Penn Highway.
Paving work set to start on remainder of Export's downtown parking lot
Paving work on the northern side of the central parking lot in Export is set to begin next week, according to borough officials.
