2024 Tour De Los Padres: A Tour to Remember
Words and photos by Drew Raney, additional photos by other participants. The 11th annual Tour De Los Padres (TDLP) took place on April 19th, 2024. With road damage unfortunately canceling the longer “proper” route, riders made their way to Frazier Park, California, for the grand depart. Frazier Park sits only minutes away from the busy I-5 freeway separating the Central Valley and Los Angeles. Around 30 riders were present at the start. This ride happens each year due to the efforts of many individuals on our “TDLP Collective,” spearheaded by route creator Erin Caroll. While the event has historically been free, riders are encouraged to fundraise for a cause of their choice or consider donating to the Los Padres Forest Association and the “Get it Done Trail Crew” based out of Ojai. Many of the trails included in this year’s route were made possible through the efforts of the Get it Done Crew.

Letter to the editor: The Scrivner family
I believe we should pause and take a big breath until all the facts are presented by outside Kern County law enforcement. There is much we don't know about what happened in the Tehachapi home of the Scrivner family. Because of possible conflicts of interest within local law enforcement, state law requires review by law enforcement unbiased outside Kern County.
Baseball Game Recap: Arvin Comes Up Short
Friday just wasn't the day for Arvin's offense. They fell just short of the Tehachapi Warriors by a score of 2-0 on Friday. Arvin has struggled against Tehachapi recently, as their game on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup. For Tehachapi's part, Aiden Salazar looked comfortable as he tossed...
