Pearland hurricane response: What plans are in place?
In 2017 when Hurricane Harvey struck the Houston area, one of the hardest hit communities was the city of Pearland. Since then, the Pearland Fire Department has taken the lessons learned from that catastrophic weather event and used it to fine tune their hurricane response training. Captain Rusty Ryan walked us through some of the apparatus, personnel and multi-agency cooperation that they now have in place to be ready for whatever may come.

FEMA opens disaster recovery center in Cloverleaf area
HOUSTON (KIAH) — FEMA is opening a third disaster recovery center in Harris County on Monday in the Cloverleaf area. The center will be located at the Leon Z. Grayson Community Center, which is at 13828 Corpus Christi Street in Houston, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday.
