CENTRAL ILLINOIS (WCIA) — Communities throughout Central Illinois are left to clean up on Friday after a line of storms moved through the region Thursday evening.

Latham in Logan County in particular was hit hard, with downed power lines and trees and damaged buildings. Latham Volunteer Fire and Rescue said one person was hurt from an overturned semi-truck on Route 121.

The volunteer fire department also advised that people avoid going out if possible, as multiple power lines are still down and storm damage is being assessed. Anyone who needs assistance or who wants to report damage can call the non-emergency number for Logan County Dispatch — 217-732-4159 or the firehouse at 217-674-3739. For emergencies, call 911.

In Macon County, I-72 was shut down by three crashes between Harristown and Decatur, though no one was hurt, and the highway has since reopened. Macon County EMA advised that anyone who has storm damage to report can call 217-424-1327.
