A man is behind bars after he allegedly murdered another man and ate his face near the Las Vegas Strip, according to reports.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said in a press release that officers responded to a report of two men fighting in front of a business in the 1100 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard near Charleston Boulevard. Cops found one of the men bleeding from the head and unresponsive. Medical personnel pronounced him dead. The Clark County Coroner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death, cops say.

Detectives later learned that 31-year-old Colin Czech allegedly attacked the victim.

Local CBS affiliate KLAS obtained documents that said a 911 caller told cops that a man was eating another’s man’s face at a bus stop. When officers arrived, they found Czech kneeling next to the victim with “biological matter in his hair, mouth and on his clothing,” the documents reportedly stated. The victim, identified as Kenneth Brown, was reportedly missing an eye and ear. He also had a large cut on his head.

Czech, who was going in and out of consciousness while in police custody, allegedly later told detectives that he is homeless and had been awake for “five days straight” because something was “possessing him.” He also admitted to using his teeth to eat the victim’s “eyeballs and ears,” the documents reportedly stated.

      The incident left people stunned.

“It was pretty bizarre, man,” Raymond Garcia told KLAS. “Obviously there’s a lot of stuff that goes on out here but this takes the cake.”

Czech is facing an open murder charge. KLAS reported that Czech missed his initial court appearance because he was in the hospital. His next court date is scheduled for May 1.
