HODGENVILLE, Ky. — A Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) contract worker died after being hit by a vehicle in LaRue County on Tuesday morning. Around 9 a.m., Kentucky State Police (KSP) was called to investigate a fatal collision involving a van and a highway worker near the 3100 block of Old Elizabethtown Road (KY210).

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 22-year-old maintenance worker was killed in Hodgenville on Tuesday morning, according to Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. Kentucky State Police said Blake Barnes, a contract worker, was killed in an accident on KY 210, known as Old Elizabethtown Road, near Tonieville Road. Barnes, from Elizabethtown, was hit by a vehicle driven by Henry T. James, 74, while working on a maintenance operation.
