Dean's heroics lead Plainsmen over Fillies
GILLETTE — Laramie's Rachael Dean walked away the hero during the Plainsmen's opening game of this weekend's state softball tournament. With a tight one-run lead in the top of the seventh, Cody elected to walk Laramie's Brooklyn McKinney to load the bases for the Plainsmen. The decision turned out to be a costly one, as Dean sliced a two-RBI single to left field to give the Plainsmen a 6-5 lead going into the bottom of the seventh.
Laramie's Flynn Arnold running with passion going into state meet
It'd be hard to find another student-athletes who loves their respective sport as much as Laramie High sophomore Andrew Flynn Arnold. Arnold is a true student of track and field, obsessing over ways to improve. A sprinter by nature, he primarily runs the 400-meter dash, and hopes to claim the first state championship of his career at this weekend's Wyoming Class 4A state outdoor track and field state meet in Casper.
Elite pitching powers Post 6 to doubleheader sweep of Laramie
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Monday night at Powers Field featured a make-up doubleheader between the Sixers and Laramie that was originally scheduled for last week. Post 6 got off to a quick start in the first game-- scoring three runs in the first and two in the second to take control of the game. The Rangers bats had no answers for what Corey Williams was dishing out on the mound, and the Sixers continued to pad their lead late. Ultimately, the home team took a 7-0 victory to get their evening started. Williams went all seven innings while surrendering just one hit on 72 pitched, and struck out 12 batters during the outing. Mason Tafoya, Nolan Horton, Kaed Coates, and Braden Pearson all had two hits to lead a balanced offensive attack. Horton and Pearson each scored twice, while Tafoya and Horton drove in a run apiece.

Woman killed in northern Colorado shooting
MILLIKEN, Colo. — A woman was shot and killed at a home in Weld County Tuesday, the Milliken Police Department said. Police said the shooting happened at a home on Farmland Lane in Milliken, which is east of Johnstown. The victim was found dead inside the home, police said. Her name has not yet been released.
