After man beaten with bolt-covered bat, Kenner coupled booked with attempted murder
A Kenner couple was arrested after authorities say they attacked a man and beat him with a bat that had been outfitted with dozens of metal bolts. Kimberly Tonquinto, 33, and David Shives, 34, both of Kenner, were booked Friday with attempted second-degree murder, according to Capt. Michael Cunningham, a Kenner Police Department spokesperson.
Deputy Fatally Shoots 18-Year-Old Suspect in Metairie
An 18-year-old suspect was fatally shot by a Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office (JPSO) deputy in Metairie, as reported by Sheriff Joe Lopinto. The suspect, wanted in connection with a crime in New Orleans, tried to flee the scene by driving towards the approaching deputy, who then fired shots into the windshield. The incident occurred at the West Asplenia apartment complex, where investigators remained on site for several hours to assess the situation.

The Jefferson Parish Coroner's Office has released the identities of the two men killed in separate shootings reported Saturday on the West Bank. Jeffrey Soler Meza, 21, of Kenner, died after he was shot in the 1900 block of Melba Place in Marrero(map). Search for Stabbing Suspect in Ponchatoula Continues
