Honkers win continuation of March 21 matchup
After the second game of a March 21 doubleheader between Lakeview and North Valley was postponed due to lack of daylight, the two sides met up to continue the game on Saturday, April 13. When play was stopped, Lakeview led 6-0 after three innings, and once they resumed, the Honkers sealed the deal.
Noni Run set for May 5
The 3K/5K Color Walk/Run for Noni is returning this year on Sunday, May 5 at 10:30 a.m.. Sponsored by the Lakeview High School Honor Society, community members are encouraged to join in the event in remembrance of former LHS teacher Noni Vandenberg. Nina Kathryn Conn passed away on March 27, 2024 due to colon cancer. She was born in Lakeview, Oregon on December 25, 1942 to Freda and Robert Strombom. On September 26, 1964 Nina married her high school sweetheart Truman W. Conn. She graduated from Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing and Concordia University — Portland.

Pilot work release program launched at Pacific Pine
A pilot Work Release Program with Oregon Corrections Enterprises (OCE) and Pacific Pine Products is bringing opportunities to some of the adults in custody (AICs) at Warner Creek Correctional Facility (WCCF). “This is an exciting opportunity for all involved, as it has been more than 25 years since the last work release programs operated,” OCE noted. The program will be one of several operated by OCE that are certified as a Prison Industries Enhancement Certification Program, including commercial woodworking, metal fabrication, sewing, and more.
