Fire damages double-block home in Carbon County
LANSFORD, Pa. — A fire damaged a double-block house in Carbon County Wednesday afternoon. Crews were called to a double-block house on East Abbott Street in Lansford around 5:30 p.m. One side of the home was empty and heavily damaged. One woman was inside the other half of the home at the time with only smoke damage on the interior.
North Franklin Street in WB to be closed for paving
WILKES-BARRE — Beginning at 7 a.m. Wednesday, North Franklin Street between West Jackson Street and North Street will be closed to traffic for milling and paving of the road, according to city officials. The roadwork is estimated to continue until Friday. Travelers are advised to avoid the area.
