Traverse City church hosts panel discussion in commemoration of Nakba Day
TRAVERSE CITY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A night of culture and commemoration. A Traverse City church hosted an event Wednesday night in observance of Nakba Day. Nakba, or catastrophe in Arabic, refers to events surrounding the 1948 Arab-Israel War, where more than 700,000 Palestinians were displaced from land that is currently Israel. The United Nations officially commemorated Nakba Day for the first time in May 2023.
