Central Texas pummeled with lime-sized hail on Mother's Day
TEMPLE, Texas — Central Texans woke up to hail Mother's Day morning -- some big enough to cause damage to vehicles -- as severe thunderstorms rolled through the area. Residents shared photos and videos with 6 News, showing hail ranging in size from as small as dimes to as large as limes.

WACO, Texas (FOX 44) – May 11, 2024 marks the 71st anniversary of the infamous Waco Tornado. The EF-5 tornado swept through downtown Waco around 4:30 p.m. on May 11, 1953. The winds were so strong that almost 200 buildings were either destroyed or damaged to the point that they later had to be torn down. It caused more than $50 million in damage.

The Texas Division of Emergency Management, or TDEM, urges Texans to report any damage from flooding and storms using their damage assessment report tool.
