LETTER: Diocese urged to look at alternatives to potential consolidation in Rome
As a devout member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Rome, I am compelled to address the recent story in the Saturday, May 25, edition of the Daily Sentinel on a plan by the Syracuse Diocese to downsize and unite our city’s individual Catholic parishes under one banner, which clearly threatens the closure of our beloved parish.
Jamesville-DeWitt baseball clinches first-ever trip to Class A state final four
Jamesville-DeWitt baseball checked off a couple of firsts on Saturday at Falcon Park in Auburn. Not only did the Red Rams capture their first-ever Class A regional title with a 3-2 victory over Section II’s Albany Academy, but the team will also be making its first trip to the state semifinal round in program history.

This is where they learn their apprehension work, but that also includes simple obedience, the obstacle course, tracking, area searches, wooded area searches, and like I said, this is just the beginning,” Sergeant Jeff Neal, the Onondaga County Sherriff’s Office K-9 School lead instructor, said.

SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) – This May was one of the warmest on record in Syracuse, but not one of the wettest despite it seeming rather rainy a lot of the time. The average temperature for the month of May in Syracuse came out to 64.6 degrees, making it the second warmest May on record here.
