LAFAYETTE, La. ( KLFY ) — Two men have been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of Juquan Calais in Lafayette , authorities said.

Bryan Jenkins, 29, and James George, 29, both of Lafayette, were arrested by Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Deputies on Tuesday. Both were charged with first degree murder and attempted first degree murder. Jenkins was also charged with resisting a police officer with force or violence and on a previous arrest warrant.

The arrests stem from a Jan. 12 shooting in the 300 block of Rials Drive that left one dead and one injured. Two victims were located at the scene suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were transported to a local hospital where Calais died. The second victim sustained non-life threatening injuries, officials said.
