Northland College Notes; Volleyball team nets recruit
Incoming freshman Anna Campbell joins the Women’s Volleyball Team at Northland College for the 2024 season. Campbell is from Crosby, Texas where she attended Hargrave High School. The Northland is under a Flood Watch from until 7am Wednesday morning. An additional 1-3” is likely all over with some areas seeing even more farther west toward Bemidji. This storm system will also bring strong and gusty northeast winds Tuesday night into Wednesday, gusts of 30 to 40 mph are possible. Winds then turn to the WSW Wednesday, and continue to be gusty. Winds will likely be in the 15-25 mph sustained winds early Wednesday morning.

The Northland College 2023-24 mens and womens sports programs came through with a hefty cumulative grade point average of 3.25/4.0, and it was the smart performance of the LumberJills volleyball team leading the way with a mark of 3.71. Local 4-H member receives scholarship
The Wisconsin 4-H Foundation announced Thursday its scholarship recipients. The sole Bay Area 4-H member to receive a scholarship was Washburn’s Brian Maki. He is the recipient of the Harold and Irene Hendrickson Memorial Scholarship. Maki was one of three 4-H members to be awarded the $2,500 scholarship. The Wisconsin 4-H Foundation awards scholarships annually to Wisconsin students pursuing higher education. Scholarship recipients are selected based on demonstrated personal growth, development and leadership, academic performance and future educational goals. This year over $20,000 in scholarships were awarded, according to a news release.
