Avoyelles Parish bridge reopens to the public
AVOYELLES PARISH, La. (KALB) - Drivers near Bordelonville can once again cross the Monroe Fabre Bridge after a nearly $1.85 million replacement project was completed. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announced Sept. 3 that the bridge over Bayou Des Glaises on Big Bend Road had reopened to traffic.

CATAHOULA PARISH, La. (KALB) - A new agreement could keep Diversion Canal Levee Road open to the public, but it comes with a 90-day deadline. The Tensas Basin Levee District had planned to close the road in Catahoula and LaSalle parishes, saying it needed to focus on flood protection rather than public traffic.

Stretch of La. 26 west of Oberlin to be closed for nearly a year
ALLEN PARISH, La. (KPLC) - A stretch of La. 26 west of Oberlin will soon close for nearly a year for bridge replacements. Starting Monday, Sept. 21, multiple bridges west of the Ouiska Chitto Creek will be closed through August 2027, Department of Transportation and Development officials said. This is part of a project to replace or restore 62 bridges across the state.
