Greenfield motorcyclist killed in crash near New Palestine
HANCOCK COUNTY, Indiana — Police are investigating after a motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Hancock County Thursday evening. The crash, involving a motorcycle and SUV, was reported around 7:30 p.m. April 25 near US 52 and South Creekside Drive, west of New Palestine and less than a mile east of the Marion-Hancock County line.
Court upholds 35-year sentence for man who severely beat 86-year-old New Castle resident
NEW CASTLE, Ind. — The Indiana Court of Appeals upheld the 35-year sentence given to a New Castle man who severely injured an 86-year-old local resident. Derek Allen Wethington, now 38, last year pleaded guilty — but mentally ill — to burglary, a Level 1 felony carrying up to 40 years in prison.
