Restaurateur and Executive Chef Eric Donnelly has announced the second location of Rock Creek Seafood & Spirits has officially opened in the heart of Kirkland.

The full-service restaurant and bar’s first location opened in Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood in 2013. The menu focuses on globally sourced seafood from well managed fisheries with offerings of local Northwest familiars including crab, oysters, and mussels, to more tropical fish such as Kona kampachi and Hawaiian Ono, and East Coast staples such as striped bass and lobster. The preparations emphasize fresh ingredients that arrive daily and pronounced flavors from around the world.

The new Kirkland space offers an opportunity for a more robust food program including menu highlights from the Fremont location, along with new dishes and a heavy seafood focus complete with a chilled shellfish platter.

The 5,000 square foot space seats 90, with an additional 60 seats outdoor, and a private dining area with a private bar that seats up to 45. The restaurant will be open happy hour, and dinner daily, with lunch and brunch service launching in May.

A 33-foot natural basalt bar anchors the main dining room, alongside yellow walnut booths, rough sawn barn tresses, and a large woodfire oven. Floor to ceiling windows offer views of Lake Washington and downtown Seattle.

“We’re excited to be opening our first east side restaurant and bringing RockCreek to the Kirkland community” said owner and Executive Chef Donnelly in a statement. “The larger space allows us to expand the menu and offer lunch daily starting in May.”

The bar program features hand-crafted cocktails highlighting spirits from local distilleries and around the world, a variety of local beers on tap, and a substantial wine list that compliments the food program. Expect to see items from the Fremont menu including the Sparkle Dun – Tanqueray London Dry Gin, Giffard Apricot, thyme, lemon, Absinthe rinse and the Sneaky Spinner – Suntory Toki whisky, Giffard Passionfruit, St. Germaine, yuzu, salted honey, grapefruit bitter.

RockCreek Seafood & Spirits is located at 89 Kirkland Avenue, and open Sunday – Thursday from 4pm – 10pm, Friday – Saturday to 11pm; daily happy hour from 4pm – 5:30pm.
