Wine shop owners unhappy with ordinance banning alcohol in Jasper city parks
The owners of a wine shop in Jasper are unhappy with the Jasper City Council for passing an ordinance which bans alcohol in city parks, and they’ve let their feelings be known to the mayor and councilmembers. Steve and Susanne Talcott own Texas Wine Shop & Bistro along with a 23 acre vineyard just south of Jasper and they’ve signed off on a letter which detailed their dismay with the ordinance.

East Texas roads washed out, flooded due to heavy rain
EAST TEXAS (KLTV/KTRE) - Authorities have reported several roads that are in dangerous condition due to rising water. The Anderson County Office of Emergency Management shared information on flooded roads at about 6:30 p.m. and pointed out that there are probably more than have been reported. Authorities reminded drivers not to go through water if it’s covering a roadway.

My fellow citizens of the City of Jasper Texas. I would like to thank all of you who voted. Electing your city officials is a very important part of your civic duty. We have added two new members to the Jasper City Council LeQuin Hilderbrand, and Angel McCroskey. You elected them to serve you the people not to serve their own agenda. I hope that we now have a city council that will make the right decisions that will benefit the citizens and the city of Jasper. Thank you again to all of you who voted, now we can get down to doing the business you elected us to do. To all of our City Council members, I said this to the last City Council and I will say it again to the current City Council please be careful with your comments on Facebook it can be used tool to get things out remember the city has a Facebook page use it and remember you are a city official anything you say will be scrutinized by the public. To the citizens of Jasper, please keep all of us in your thoughts and prayers. I would like to say our new City of Jasper Texas, Jasper Texas Facebook page is up and running and doing quite well, we have gotten a lot of positive comments about it. We are also working to improve the City of Jasper, Texas website.
